VivaCité Charleroi
About VivaCité Charleroi
VivaCité Charleroi is the Charleroi regional edition of VivaCité, the general interest public radio network of RTBF, the French-speaking public broadcaster of Belgium. It combines local and regional information with a broad mix of popular music, and is broadcast on 92.3 FM in the Charleroi area as well as online.
VivaCité was created on 29 February 2004 from the merger of the regional network Fréquence Wallonie and the Brussels station Bruxelles Capitale. Today it serves French-speaking Belgium through several regional stations, each with its own morning programme and local news, while sharing network programmes in the rest of the day. The language is French and the audience is mainly adults in Wallonia.
Expect morning shows with regional news, traffic and interviews, followed by music, magazines and sports coverage with a local angle. The stream is a stereo MP3 feed at around 160 kbit/s served over HTTPS by the RTBF radio infrastructure. Current schedules and presenters change over time and are best checked on the RTBF website.
