Classic 21
About Classic 21
Classic 21 is a French-language music station of the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF, based in Mons. It plays rock and pop, mostly Anglo-American songs from the 1960s through the 1990s, along with a selection of later material. It is one of RTBF's flagship music networks for adult listeners in French-speaking Belgium.
The station started in 2004, replacing the earlier Radio 21, and it was long presented as Belgium's classic rock station. Over the years its playlist has widened towards a broader mix of pop and rock, so listeners will hear well-known hits as well as album tracks and deeper cuts. RTBF also runs themed online variants of the brand, such as decade-based streams, but this stream is the main Classic 21 service.
Presenters speak French, while most of the music is sung in English. Expect music-led programming with presenters, short news updates and themed shows. The stream is delivered as MP3 at about 160 kbit/s over HTTPS.
