SomaFM Groove Salad

This stream carries Groove Salad, the flagship channel of SomaFM: a nicely chilled plate of ambient and downtempo beats and grooves. The music runs from trip hop and downtempo to lounge electronica, ambient dub and mellow breakbeats, with smooth transitions and a warm, slightly cinematic atmosphere. It has been a staple of internet radio for over two decades and remains one of the most popular chillout streams in the world.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station based in San Francisco that has been on air since 1999. It carries no advertising and is programmed by hand, which gives the channel a steady, thoughtful character. This entry is the AAC version at 128 kbps, a more modern codec than MP3 that delivers clearer sound at the same bitrate, and it works in most current browsers and on phones. The artist and title are displayed as each track changes. RadioKite also lists the MP3 version, a low-bandwidth version and a lossless version of the same channel, so you can choose the one that suits your connection and device best, and add it to your favourites.
