NTS Slow Focus

Slow Focus from NTS Radio is meditative, relaxing and beatless: ambient, drone and ragas, from the London-based independent station NTS. The channel is one of NTS’s Infinite Mixtapes, continuous streams that run alongside its live shows, and it concentrates on music without drums, where texture, tone and time are the main subjects. You can expect long synthesizer drones, field recordings, sacred and devotional sounds, Indian ragas, minimalist compositions and contemporary ambient from established artists and rare finds from the archives.

NTS began in 2011 in an east London studio and grew into an international station with a reputation for adventurous programming, hosted by DJs, collectors and musicians who choose their own music. Slow Focus draws on that spirit, with a depth of knowledge that is difficult to find in automated services. It is ideal for concentration, sleep, meditation and creative work. The stream is free of announcements and advertising and is delivered as MP3 at 256 kbps, a high bitrate that gives subtle textures and quiet passages the clarity they need, particularly on headphones. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installing anything, and you can add it to your favourites.
