IPR Studio One

IPR Studio One is the non-commercial music service of Iowa Public Radio. It plays indie, alternative and americana music around the clock, with a strong emphasis on Iowa artists alongside national and international acts.

Studio One is run by Iowa Public Radio, the state's public radio network, and is described by IPR as Iowa's NPR Music affiliate. Besides the 24-hour online stream, the format has been carried on FM in the Des Moines area since August 2024, when it replaced a classical service there. Programming is in English and aimed at listeners who want discovery-oriented, commercial-free music rather than mainstream hits. Listeners can also reach Studio One through the Iowa Public Radio app and through smart speakers.

This stream is delivered as a 64 kbps MP3 and is the low-bitrate version of the Studio One feed, suitable for mobile connections. Expect a continuous mix of songs with little talk.
