WKCR 89.9 Columbia University

WKCR 89.9 is the student-run radio of Columbia University in New York City. The programme is famously eclectic, with specialist shows of jazz, classical, world music, indie, alternative and avant-garde, presented by volunteer hosts, together with talk and sports. The tone is independent and curious. The stream runs around the clock, so there is always something to hear whatever the hour. Because it is delivered over the internet, it is not tied to a single frequency or country, and it can be heard wherever you have a connection.

College radio is a tradition in the United States, and WKCR is respected for its jazz programming in particular. As a non-commercial station it carries no regular advertising. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 160 kbps, a generous bitrate that gives speech and music a clear and full sound on most devices. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
