BBC Radio 2
About BBC Radio 2
BBC Radio 2 is the BBC's national adult-contemporary music station for the United Kingdom, and one of the most listened-to radio stations in the country. It plays a broad mix of popular music, from classic hits of the 1960s, 70s and 80s through to current pop, rock and soul, alongside presenter-led shows, entertainment and chat.
The station is run by the British Broadcasting Corporation, the UK's public service broadcaster, and is funded through the licence fee, so it carries no advertising. Its output is in English and is built around well-known presenters, specialist music strands covering genres such as country, folk, jazz and blues, and regular news bulletins.
Listeners can expect friendly daytime shows, themed evening programmes and live music coverage, with a warm, mainstream tone aimed mainly at adult audiences. This stream is the worldwide BBC HLS feed (an adaptive stream at up to 320 kbps), so some programmes with limited rights may differ from the UK broadcast.
