ici Breizh Izel

ici Breizh Izel, formerly France Bleu Breizh Izel, is the local public radio station for Lower Brittany (Basse-Bretagne). It is based in Quimper in Finistère and also covers areas of Morbihan and Côtes-d'Armor, including Brest, Lorient, Concarneau and Lannion. The schedule is built around local news, regional affairs, transport and the environment, with a daily evening news bulletin, event guides, listener participation and live coverage of regional sport such as Stade Brestois, FC Lorient and Landerneau basketball.

The station belongs to the ici network of local stations run by Radio France, the French public broadcaster, which replaced the France Bleu name. Radio France is financed mainly by public funds, so advertising is limited. The main language is French, but the station also gives space to the Breton language, with Breton-language reports and learning material on its website. Music programming mixes French songs with Breton music and features such as song identification.

Expect a friendly, regional tone aimed at an adult audience, with presenters who know the area well and practical information for daily life. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which keeps speech clear and data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
