SchlagerPlanet Best Of Karneval

SchlagerPlanet Best of Karneval plays carnival hits in German, from Schlager to party tunes. The programme brings together the songs that fill the carnival season in Germany, with Cologne's Kölsch-language carnival hits, Schlager favourites, singalong anthems and festive party numbers, delivered with the brass bands, accordions and chorus lines that make the genre so cheerful. It is the soundtrack of costume parties, street processions and sessions in the pub, intended to lift the mood and encourage dancing on chairs.

SchlagerPlanet is a German web radio network that specialises in Schlager and related styles, with several channels for different occasions, and the Karneval stream is meant for the weeks around Fastnacht, Fasching and Karneval, although fans listen to it all year. The lyrics are largely in German and sometimes in local dialects, and the humour may be hard to follow for outsiders, but the rhythm is easy to enjoy. The stream does not declare a fixed codec or bitrate, and the quality may vary. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites for the next celebration.
