ON Radio 80s

ON Radio's 80s channel plays pop and oldies from the 1980s. It is one of a family of decade and genre streams from the German web radio network, so listeners can select an era and stay in it. The playlist gathers synth-pop, new wave, Neue Deutsche Welle, power ballads, dance-pop and the big chart hits of the decade, with the shiny production and memorable hooks that still sound distinctive today. The mood is nostalgic and cheerful, and most songs will be instantly familiar to anyone who grew up in the eighties.

ON Radio is an internet-only operator, so its channels can be heard anywhere and run around the clock with very little talk. The occasional announcements are in German, but the music is international and mostly in English. A decade-focused stream is more satisfying than a general oldies station because it stays within a coherent style, and it is a good soundtrack for parties, drives and household chores. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which gives a clear and balanced sound on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
