181.FM The Beat

181.FM The Beat is an internet radio channel from the 181.FM online network, programmed with hip hop and R&B. It streams continuously and focuses on urban music, combining rap, rhythm and blues and soul-influenced pop.

The channel is one of many genre-specific streams offered by 181.FM, an English-language web radio service aimed mainly at listeners in the United States. Each channel concentrates on one style, so The Beat suits listeners who want a steady flow of hip hop and R&B without switching between stations. Details about the ownership of the network and the exact playlist rules are not published on the pages consulted.

The stream is delivered as 128 kbps MP3 in stereo over HTTPS and should play in any browser or standard audio player. Expect mostly uninterrupted music with little talk, and look to the 181.FM website for the full channel list and song information. Because the channel is streamed over the internet rather than broadcast on a local frequency, it can be heard from anywhere with a connection.
