About Radio Mitre AM 790

Radio Mitre AM 790 is a Buenos Aires talk and news station broadcasting on 790 kHz in the Argentine capital. Its schedule is built around morning news and current affairs programmes, interviews, political and economic analysis, sports coverage and general-interest talk, all in Spanish.

Radio Mitre began broadcasting in 1925 and is one of the oldest stations in Argentina. It was nationalised under Perón, returned to private hands in 1983 and has belonged to the Clarín Group since 1992. Its studios are in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires. The Clarín Group also operates sister stations such as La 100 and Mía FM.

Listeners can expect spoken-word programming rather than a continuous music playlist, with news bulletins, panel discussions and live sports events. The editorial line is that of a mainstream commercial broadcaster owned by a large media group. This stream carries the station over the internet as a 64 kbps AAC+ feed, suited to mobile connections and everyday listening anywhere in the world.
