SomaFM Mission Control

This stream carries Mission Control, the SomaFM channel that celebrates NASA and space explorers everywhere. It combines ambient and electronic music with real mission audio, mixing calm, spacious soundscapes with the voices of flight controllers and astronauts, so you hear countdowns, radio chatter and historic communications layered over a suitable soundtrack. The result is a unique and slightly nostalgic blend of music and space history.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station that has broadcast from San Francisco since 1999 and plays no commercials. Its programmers build channels around unusual ideas that no automated service would think of. This entry is the MP3 version at 128 kbps, which works on practically every browser, phone and smart speaker, and the current track is shown in the player as it changes. RadioKite also lists another entry for the same channel, so you can choose whichever suits your device and connection. Listening to Mission Control feels a bit like sitting in the back row of a launch room, and it makes a calm yet intriguing background for studying, working, reading or stargazing.
