98,5 FM Montréal
About 98,5 FM Montréal
98,5 FM Montréal is the French-language news and talk station CHMP-FM, serving Greater Montreal and licensed to Longueuil, Quebec. Its schedule is built around news, current affairs, debate and commentary, with a strong sports presence including hockey and football. Presenters speak French and the tone is lively and conversational.
The station began in 1977 as CIEL-FM and became CHMP-FM in 2004. It is owned by Cogeco Média, which acquired it with other Quebec stations in 2010, and the 98,5 brand has since been used for news-talk stations elsewhere in Quebec. As a commercial service it carries advertising between programmes.
This stream is delivered through the StreamTheWorld service as an HLS feed, and the codec and bitrate are not declared by the station. During verification the feed redirected to a geo-block notice playlist, so listeners outside the licensed area may hear a restriction message instead of the live programme. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
