Radio Olympia

Radio Olympia is a Dutch internet station devoted to pirate hits and Dutch-language music. The programme revives the sound of the offshore and pirate stations of the 1960s and 1970s with Nederpop, levenslied and party songs, presented in a free-spirited style. The mood is nostalgic and good-humoured. The stream runs around the clock, so there is always something to hear whatever the hour.

The Netherlands has a compact but very competitive radio market, with public channels from NPO, regional broadcasters, national commercial networks and many web stations. The station is an independent online service, and the details of its operators and schedule are not fully published, so the programme may vary. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 320 kbps, a very high bitrate that gives music a full, clean and detailed sound, particularly on good headphones or speakers, though it uses more data than typical streams. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
