BBC Radio 4

BBC Radio 4 is the BBC's main spoken-word network in the United Kingdom, offering news, current affairs, drama, comedy, readings and factual programmes. Its schedule is anchored by the Today programme in the morning and includes The World at One, PM, The Archers, In Our Time and the Shipping Forecast.

The BBC is funded mainly by the UK licence fee, and Radio 4 carries no commercial advertising in the United Kingdom. Programmes are in English with a wide range of voices and accents, making the station a good source of spoken English for learners. Because of rights, some programmes may be restricted outside the United Kingdom.

This RadioKite entry is the national live feed that is also carried on FM in the UK. The stream is delivered as HLS with AAC audio at roughly 96 kbps, which plays directly in the browser without installation. You can add it to your favourites for quick access to the station's daily speech programming.
