Radio SAR
About Radio SAR
Radio SAR, the Studencka Agencja Radiowa, is the student radio of Gdańsk, a port city on the Baltic coast of Poland. The schedule is made up of programmes presented by students and volunteers who choose their own music and topics, so the sound ranges from blues, jazz and metal to indie, electronic and Polish alternative music, together with talk about culture, university life and the city. The mood is creative, independent and varied.
Poland has a lively radio market, with national networks, public regional stations and many local and online services, and the internet lets Poles living abroad keep in touch with the music and language of home. For learners of Polish, everyday radio speech is a useful source of listening practice. Student radio plays a special role as a training ground for young broadcasters and a platform for music that commercial stations avoid. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, a standard quality that sounds clear on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
