WOTR Crime Time Radio

WOTR Crime Time Radio is a US internet channel of classic crime radio drama from the golden age of broadcasting. The schedule is full of detective stories, mysteries and suspense programmes from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, in the days before television, with hard-boiled investigators, shadowy villains and the voices and sound effects that made the theatre of the mind come alive. The stories are presented in their original form, including the announcements of the time.

The channel belongs to the WOTR radio network, a group of streams devoted to old-time radio genres, and it offers a convenient way to hear a continuous run of classic crime episodes without searching for individual recordings. Old-time radio has a devoted following among listeners who enjoy storytelling, wit and nostalgia, and it makes an unusual and thrilling companion for the evening or for falling asleep. The programmes are in English and reflect the language and attitudes of their time. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which provides a clear sound for speech on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
