Phare FM Mons

Phare FM Mons is the Belgian service of Phare FM, a French-language community radio station for the Mons area in Hainaut, with its studio in Cuesmes. It plays a mostly musical programme for a broad adult audience, with an hourly news bulletin, cultural listings and local announcements between the songs.

The station is run by the non-profit Impact FM ASBL and was authorised by the Belgian media regulator, the CSA, as an independent radio from July 2019. The Phare FM brand began in Mulhouse, France, in 1989 as Radio Phare, and the Belgian service is its first to broadcast in French-speaking Belgium. Listeners in the Mons, La Louvière and Charleroi regions can receive it on DAB+, and it is also available online and through the Phare FM app.

Most of the week is automated music with a few hours of live presentation, and on Saturdays a programme called Entrevue inattendue interviews a personality for an hour. The exact playlist is not published in detail. This stream is delivered as MP3 at 192 kbps, which gives music and speech a clear sound, and it plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation.
