CRnet Classic Rock

CRnet Classic Rock is a US internet station playing Christian classic rock. The programme brings together rock songs from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s by bands and artists who sing about faith, with the familiar sounds of electric guitars, organs, harmonies and driving rhythms. It is an alternative to secular classic rock stations for listeners who enjoy the musical style but prefer lyrics that reflect their beliefs, and it includes both well-known names and lesser-known acts from the Christian rock scene.

Christian rock developed as a distinct movement alongside mainstream rock in the 1970s and has its own labels, festivals and audiences, and stations like this one give fans around the world a continuous stream of the music. The stream is part of a family of web radios devoted to Christian music styles, and the content is explicitly faith-based, which differs from general entertainment radio. Announcements are brief and in English. For fans who are not religious, the music may still be of interest for its musicianship. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which provides a clear sound with solid guitars and drums on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
