Ege Havaları

Ege Havaları is a Turkish web radio playing music of the Aegean region. The name means Aegean tunes, and the programme focuses on the folk songs, zeybek dances and regional melodies of the west coast of Turkey, as well as popular songs that draw on the same traditions, with the sounds of the bağlama, violin, clarinet and the drums that give the music its lively character. The mood is festive and warm, and the style is closely linked to weddings and celebrations in the region.

The Aegean has a rich cultural heritage, with Izmir, Aydın and Muğla at its heart, and its music is loved across Turkey. A dedicated web radio is a convenient way for people who have left the region, including many who live abroad, to listen to the songs of home. The station is operated through the Radyo TV Online platform, which hosts many internet stations from Turkey, and the details of its schedule are not published in the metadata. Announcements are in Turkish and brief. The stream is delivered as AAC at 128 kbps, a modern codec that provides a clearer and cleaner sound than MP3 at the same bitrate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
