Vividh Bharati Mumbai

Vividh Bharati Mumbai is the Mumbai feed of Vividh Bharati, the entertainment service of All India Radio (Akashvani), India's public broadcaster. The service is known mainly for Hindi film music, classic Bollywood songs, radio plays and other cultural and light entertainment programming.

Vividh Bharati began in 1957 according to All India Radio chronologies, and commercials were introduced on it in 1967. It is operated by Prasar Bharati, the public broadcasting corporation of India, and is carried by dozens of centres across the country. Third-party listings place the Mumbai service on AM 1188 and FM 102.8, though these frequencies should be confirmed with the broadcaster. The language is Hindi.

This online stream is an HLS feed encoded as AAC+ at about 32 kbps, so it is light on data and suits mobile connections. Expect a mix of film songs from different eras, themed music shows and spoken segments typical of Indian public radio. A detailed daily schedule is not reproduced here; check Akashvani for current programme listings.
