About WXPN XPoNential Radio
XPoNential Radio is the HD2 subchannel and online stream of WXPN in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, programmed in an adult album alternative style. It plays an eclectic mix of singer-songwriters, rock, folk, blues and R&B, reggae and deep album tracks, with a focus on artists and songs that are less likely to be heard on mainstream radio.
WXPN is owned by the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and is a non-commercial public radio station, with its transmitter in the Roxborough section of the city. The main station is known for producing the nationally distributed program World Cafe, and its locally produced shows have included Kids Corner, The Blues Show and Sleepy Hollow. The HD2 channel and its stream were previously branded as Y-Rock on XPN before taking the XPoNential name.
Programming is in English and aimed at music lovers in the Philadelphia area and beyond. Expect a varied, music-first sound that moves across genres and decades rather than a tight, repetitive playlist. This stream is a 128 kbps stereo MP3 feed of the live channel, suitable for desktop and mobile listening.
