AIR FM Rainbow Puducherry

AIR FM Rainbow Puducherry is the Puducherry service of FM Rainbow, the FM music network of All India Radio. AIR is the public broadcaster run by Prasar Bharati, and FM Rainbow was created to appeal mainly to younger listeners with a light, music-led mix.

The network plays Hindi and regional-language film and popular songs, along with some English music, and carries short news bulletins at set times. At Puducherry the main language is Tamil, with English also used. Specific schedules and presenters are not listed with the stream, so expect a general-interest programme of popular music with announcements in between.

This stream is delivered over HLS in AAC at around 119 kbps, so playback can take a moment to start but adapts well to mobile connections. It is a good choice for listeners who want a public-service station with Tamil-language announcements and mainstream Indian music, whether they live in Puducherry or follow it from elsewhere.
