FM Rainbow Puducherry

FM Rainbow Puducherry is the Puducherry station of FM Rainbow, the FM service of All India Radio. It broadcasts in Tamil and plays a mix of film songs, popular music, classical and devotional music, with news headlines, informal chat shows and phone-in programmes, as is typical for the FM Rainbow network.

FM Rainbow is operated by All India Radio, the public broadcaster run by Prasar Bharati, the Indian government's public service broadcasting body. The network was previously known as FM Metro and was renamed FM Rainbow in 2002. Directory listings give the Puducherry frequency as 102.8 MHz. Puducherry also has a separate All India Radio AM service, which is a different station.

Listeners can expect a light, music-led programme aimed at a general audience in Puducherry and the surrounding Tamil-speaking region. A detailed official programme schedule for this centre was not found, so the exact timetable is not described here. Online, the station is delivered as an HLS stream with MPEG-TS audio segments, which suits most modern players and mobile devices.
