About Capitalk 100.4FM
Capitalk 100.4FM is a commercial talk radio station based in Harare, Zimbabwe, broadcasting on 100.4 MHz FM and online. It is described as the country's first commercial talk station, and its programming centres on news, current affairs, business and public conversation, with call-in shows and interviews.
The station is owned by Zimpapers, the publisher of The Herald and The Sunday Mail. Its coverage is focused on Harare and the surrounding area. Sources give differing launch dates, September 2016 and January 2017. Programming is mainly in English, with some Shona and Ndebele content. In 2019 the president of Zimbabwe appeared live in its studios for a call-in programme.
Listeners can expect spoken-word shows rather than continuous music, covering political, economic and social topics from a Zimbabwean point of view, along with business-focused segments and entertainment content. Detailed schedules are published on the station's website. The stream is delivered over HTTPS as AAC audio at about 62 kbps in stereo, hosted on the iono.fm platform.
