El Fonógrafo

El Fonógrafo is a Mexico City radio station dedicated to Spanish-language classic hits and nostalgic music, with the slogan of music tied to your memories. It began as an oldies format in October 1990 and has been a long-running brand of Grupo Radio Centro.

The brand originally aired on 790 AM and later 1150 AM, and since a 2017 reorganisation it is heard on XEN-AM 690 in Mexico City. Its official site is elfonografo.mx, where listeners can follow the live stream, programmes and podcasts. Sources describe the format variously as adult hits or oldies in Spanish.

The online stream used here is an MP3 feed at about 48 kbps, light on data. Expect familiar songs from past decades, presenters speaking Mexican Spanish and regular advertising. The stream was tested and plays correctly, and its metadata describes it as El Fonógrafo Online with an oldies genre label. It suits listeners who enjoy the songs of earlier decades, whether in Mexico or abroad, and works on desktop and mobile players alike.
