SomaFM Seven Inch Soul

This stream carries Seven Inch Soul, SomaFM's channel of vintage soul tracks from the original 45 RPM vinyl, spinning the classics from the golden age of soul. The stream gathers Motown hits, Stax and Atlantic classics, Northern soul stompers, rare B-sides, gospel-tinged ballads and funky workouts from the 1960s and 1970s, in the crackling warmth of records designed for the jukebox and the radio. Expect big voices, tight horn sections and rhythm sections that make you want to move.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station that has broadcast from San Francisco since 1999 and plays no commercials. Its programmers dig into collections of singles to find tracks that never made it to the greatest hits compilations. This entry is an MP3 stream, listed by the broadcaster at a bitrate of 160 kbps, which gives a slightly fuller sound than the standard 128 kbps streams and works on practically every browser, phone and smart speaker. The artist and title are displayed whenever the track changes. RadioKite also lists another entry for this channel, so you can choose whichever suits your device and connection best, and add it to your favourites.
