About Signal Hackerspaces Radio

Signal is an internet radio stream from the hackerspaces community, carrying talk shows and live broadcasts made by and for hackers, makers and technology enthusiasts. Programmes listed on the project site include /dev/random, Eindbaas Radio, Hackerspace Digest and Talking Anthropology. The stream has also been used to relay live broadcasts from hacker events such as Chaos Communication Camp.

The project is hosted at signal.hackerspaces.org, which also offers an archive of past shows, an iCal schedule and a wiki page. The site does not name a single operator, and the language of individual programmes may vary, so the exact content depends on what is being broadcast at the time. Expect a community-driven mix of conversation, technology topics and occasional live event coverage rather than a fixed music format.

The stream is delivered as Ogg Vorbis at about 112 kbps in stereo, a free and open format that plays in most modern browsers. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
