Africa Radio Rumba

Africa Radio Rumba is a French-based web radio devoted to Congolese rumba and African music. The programme features the guitar-driven, danceable sound that grew in Kinshasa and Brazzaville, with its rolling rhythms, sweet vocals and lyrical melodies, together with other African popular styles. The mood is warm, rhythmic and joyful.

France has a large and varied radio landscape, from the public networks of Radio France to national commercial brands and many independent web stations, and French-language radio is a rich source of listening practice for learners and a link with home for French speakers abroad. France has a large African diaspora, and radio stations like this one keep the music of home alive. Announcements are in French and in Lingala. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, a standard quality that sounds clear on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
