Times FM 90.6

Times FM 90.6 is a Nepali FM station on 90.6 MHz. The listing gives few details, but the programme is likely to be a general service with Nepali popular songs, news bulletins, community announcements and chat, presented in Nepali with a friendly and local tone. The mood is easygoing, and the station functions as a companion for the home, the shop and the car.

Community and independent FM radio grew rapidly in Nepal from the 1990s onward and became a major part of the country's media, offering local voices on topics that national outlets rarely cover. An online stream expands the reach of a station like this to Nepalis who work abroad, in the Gulf states, Malaysia, India and Western countries, and who often rely on radio to keep in touch with home. Learners of Nepali can also benefit from the clear spoken style of broadcasters. The station information does not publish a detailed profile, so the exact schedule may vary. The stream does not declare the codec or bitrate, and the sound quality may vary with the connection. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
