NPO FunX Amsterdam

NPO FunX Amsterdam is the Amsterdam channel of FunX, the urban station of the Dutch public broadcasters. The programme brings together hip hop, R&B, Afrobeats, dancehall, Latin and pop that reflect the multicultural character of the capital, with presenters and news items that focus on young people living in Amsterdam. The sound is modern, rhythmic and diverse, with a strong presence of Dutch-language rap and urban pop alongside international hits.

FunX was created as an urban station for young people in the Dutch cities, reflecting their multicultural backgrounds, and each city channel adds a local flavour to the national format. NPO, the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep, coordinates the national public radio and television services of the Netherlands, financed mainly through public funds, so the stream is free of regular commercial advertising. Announcements are in Dutch, and the content may include explicit lyrics. It is a good place to discover new artists and to hear the sound of the city. The stream does not declare a fixed codec or bitrate, and the quality may vary with the source. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
