Radio Jazz FM Instrumental Jazz

Instrumental Jazz is a channel of the Russian station Radio Jazz FM, which covers many jazz directions and tells the story of jazz musicians. Here the focus is on instrumental jazz, so the selection leaves out vocal numbers and concentrates on the sound of the saxophone, trumpet, piano, guitar, bass and drums in everything from classic swing and bebop to modern and contemporary styles. It makes a pleasant, intelligent background for work, reading and quiet time at home.

Radio Jazz FM is known in Russian-speaking countries for its thoughtful approach, with biographical features and information on performers, albums and the history of the music in Russian. This channel simplifies the experience, focusing on uninterrupted music. For listeners abroad, it is also an opportunity to hear how jazz is presented in Russian media, which has its own long and interesting jazz tradition. The programme is mostly music, with limited spoken content, and any station announcements are in Russian. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which gives a clear sound for acoustic instruments on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
