News 1130 Vancouver

News 1130 is a Vancouver news radio station, with the call sign CKWX, with rolling news, traffic and weather. The schedule is built around frequent bulletins and updates, presented in English in a brisk style. It is aimed at listeners who want information on the go. The stream runs around the clock, so there is always something to hear whatever the hour.

Canada has a diverse radio landscape, with the public CBC and Radio-Canada services, large commercial groups, campus and community stations and many multilingual and online broadcasters, and its radio reflects a country of English, French and many other languages. As a commercial service, it carries advertising and promotional messages between programmes. The stream is delivered as AAC+ at 48 kbps, a very low bitrate that keeps data use minimal and is adequate for speech, although the sound is thin and not suited to music. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
