SomaFM The Trip

The Trip is the SomaFM channel for progressive house and trance, summed up as tip top tunes. The selection is built around long, melodic builds, rolling basslines, shimmering synthesizer leads and the kind of emotional breakdowns that define the style, with mixes that flow from track to track as in a good club set. It is energetic but smooth, putting the emphasis on atmosphere and momentum rather than on aggressive hard-hitting beats.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station based in San Francisco that has been on the air since 1999 and plays no commercials. Its channels are programmed by hand by people who love the music, and the stream flows without advertising or talk breaks. This entry is the AAC version at 128 kbps, a more modern codec than MP3 that delivers clearer sound at the same bitrate and is supported by current browsers and phones. The artist and title are displayed in the player as each track changes.
