About WWNW 88.9 Titan Radio
WWNW 88.9 FM, known as Titan Radio, is the non-commercial college radio station of Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It plays an adult contemporary music mix and carries local news and sports, including Westminster College and Wilmington Area High School football games.
The station first went on the air in January 1968 under the call letters WKPS and later became WWNW. The college's Board of Trustees holds the license. In 2006 the FCC approved a power increase from 200 to 4,000 watts, which extended the signal across Lawrence County and into the Youngstown, Ohio area. Students run the airshifts as part of their broadcasting coursework, so the sound reflects a campus community station.
Listeners can expect a friendly, local mix of music, campus and community news, and live game coverage in English. The online stream uses 32 kbps AAC+ audio, which keeps bandwidth low and suits mobile and slower connections, though with lower fidelity than the FM signal.
