ARTxFM 97.1 WXOX

ARTxFM is a community radio station in Louisville, Kentucky, broadcasting on 97.1 FM as WXOX. It is a noncommercial station dedicated to giving artists and community members access to the airwaves, with a focus on creative and experimental radio. The sound changes through the day and week, as programming is made by different hosts.

The station is operated by ART FM, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with studios in downtown Louisville. Its schedule is built around volunteer DJs and includes shows such as That Driving Beat on Sunday evenings, plus the syndicated news program Democracy Now! on weekday mornings. The station also offers DJ training to community members and simulcasts on 100.9 FM (WXND). The website is in English.

Listeners should expect an eclectic, locally flavored mix rather than a fixed playlist: independent and experimental music, talk and community programming, and special event coverage. The online stream is an MP3 feed at 128 kbps, so the station can be heard anywhere, not just in the Louisville area.
