Capital UK

Capital UK is the national Capital hit music radio service from Global, the British media group. It plays current chart pop, dance and urban hits alongside recent favourites, aimed mainly at a young adult audience. The brand is built around the sound of what is popular right now, with a steady rotation of the biggest singles of the moment.

Capital began in London and grew into a network of local and national stations across the United Kingdom, all owned by Global and also available on DAB, Global Player and smart speakers. The stream here is identified by the broadcaster as Capital London with the genre Hit Music, and it is mostly English-language pop programming with presenter-led shows, news bulletins and competitions between the songs.

Listeners can expect upbeat music for the daytime, breakfast and drive-time shows with familiar presenters, and a mix of current chart-toppers and recent hits. The stream used by this catalogue entry is an AAC stream at a low bitrate of about 48 kbps, which is suited to mobile connections. Other Capital stations in the catalogue cover local areas and special music themes.
