Mereja Live Sport Amharic Commentary

Mereja Live Sport is an online station that carries live football (soccer) matches with commentary in Amharic, the main working language of Ethiopia. It is listed on Zeno.fm under the name Mereja, and its programme text describes it as live sport with an Amharic commentator.

The station is aimed at Amharic-speaking fans in Ethiopia and abroad who want to follow games on the radio rather than watch them on television. It appears to be connected to the Mereja brand, whose website is Mereja.mdn.live, but details about the owner and operators are not published on the pages we could check, so none are claimed here. The Zeno.fm listing gives no further written description, and no schedule of fixtures is published there.

Expect match-day coverage and spoken commentary rather than music, so what you hear depends on which games are being broadcast at the time, and there may be quiet periods between matches. The stream is stereo MP3 at 128 kbps delivered through Zeno.fm, and it works in any browser or internet radio app that can play a standard MP3 stream.
