New Country 103.5
About New Country 103.5
New Country 103.5 is a country music station in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, broadcasting on 103.5 FM under the call sign CKCH-FM. It plays current and recent country hits with a top 40 country approach and serves the Cape Breton area.
The station launched in June 2008 and originally went by the name The Eagle. In February 2017 it was rebranded as New Country 103.5, as part of a group of country rebrands at stations formerly owned by Newcap Radio. Newcap was acquired by Stingray Group in 2018, and Wikipedia now lists Stingray as the owner. The station's sister station is CHRK-FM.
Online, the stream is an AAC feed of roughly 130 kbit/s in stereo, carried on the Newcap LeanStream platform. Expect a steady flow of English-language country songs, along with local announcements, weather and advertising typical of a Canadian commercial FM station. The station is aimed at country fans across Cape Breton Island and the surrounding area, and the online feed lets listeners elsewhere follow the same programming as the FM signal.
