SomaFM Boot Liquor

This stream carries Boot Liquor, SomaFM's channel of Americana roots music for cowhands, cowpokes and cowtippers. It mixes folk, Americana, classic country, alt-country, bluegrass and honky-tonk with the gritty edges of rock and roll, with plenty of pedal steel, fiddle, banjo and dobro. It is the sound of dusty roads, back-porch pickers and late nights at the bar, picked with a genuine fondness for the genre rather than for chart hits.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station that has broadcast from San Francisco since 1999 and plays no commercials. This entry is the AAC version at 128 kbps, a more modern codec than MP3 that delivers clearer sound at the same bitrate and is supported by current browsers and phones. The artist and title are displayed in the player as each song changes. RadioKite also lists the MP3 versions of the same channel, including a high-quality 320 kbps one and a separate Boot Liquor entry, which play the same programme, so you can choose whichever suits your device and connection. It is a good companion for road trips and quiet evenings, and you can add it to your favourites.
